Outcome

As one of the leading brands in China, BBK is preparing to enter the global market with the first step of creating a new brand that is up for the challenge. Consequently, the brand should be suitable for international use and moreover be flexible for yet unknown future developments.

Studio Dumbar China proposed a full range identity program for this project. As a starting point the naming process included linguistic check, legal availability check and trademark search worldwide. In order to portray the desired flexibility the neutral name “OPPO” was chosen that besides being simple and powerful, is also reversible, easy to remember and more importantly not bearing negative associations in any language worldwide. Adhering to the principle of flexibility in the naming concept, the design is a purely typographic logo; modern, contemporary and friendly in colors as well as shape, while leaving space for specific branding possibilities in the future. With this comprehensive approach Studio Dumbar China has equipped BBK with their new brand OPPO that is now ready to become a powerful player on the global market.
