Gerald Russelman is an architect and Dutch Designer working in Shanghai. He developed an attractive play chair for children called ‘Plons’.
Completed: 2011. Packaging design for ‘Plons’. The ‘Plons’ play chair is based on a simple ‘splash’-like geometric shape and does not have a fixed orientation like conventional chairs: each position and angle can be utilized for playing or sitting. The chair helps children to develop their spatial intelligence and stimulate their imagination.
A playful package design showing the silhouette of the play chair suitable for all the four colours available; green, pink, blue and orange. The colour of the chair can be seen and the material can be touched through the die-cut in the middle of the box. A sticker in multiple languages with instructions can be displayed on any side of the box.
